Sloans Redevelopment Project
The Redevelopment of the former St. Anthony’s Hospital will create an amazingly sustainable modern neighborhood on the south shore of Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver. SLOANS is mainly a residential, mixed-use development bringing new neighborhood-serving retail space to Denver’s West Colfax and South Sloan’s Lake neighborhoods.
Project Background
In addition to the Task Force recommendations, Denver’s Department of Community Planning and Development prepared the West Colfax Corridor Plan identifying the redevelopment of the SAH site. They deemed it as a unique opportunity for redevelopment of a “town center”.
Chief among the plan’s recommendations is the introduction of Denver’s existing street grid through the site and a clear hierarchy of street typologies to ensure that the new development has a robust pedestrian environment.
